Q. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your personal journey:
A. I was born in 1962, parents Rev. John Bryant and Sarah Ray Bryant.

Married the love of my life in 1980, Malcolm Willoughby. We were sweethearts since age 15. Met by chance at my “surprise” birthday party at age 15.

I attended DHS, Florence-Darlington Tech and Strayer University. Studied music with the late Mrs. Jennings Kerr.

I have worked with so many great physicians in my lifetime. Just to name a few, Dr. Emily Lacson, Dr. James Suggs, the late J.B. Berry, and Thomas Keith Stewart, PA. These individuals taught me so much through the years. I have enjoyed my medical career. Everyday is something new.

Q. What is your greatest accomplishment?
A. I feel my greatest accomplishment is accepting Jesus Christ as my personal savior at an early age. In doing so, it saved me from so many things that I could have fallen prey. As a child, I did not always understand why there were so many things I could not do, or places I could not go, but now that I am much older, I see it was all for my good.

God has been so good to me. At age 41, I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma. Now at age 64, I am still here. It is all for a purpose. I try to enjoy each day no matter what the challenge. Trials, disappointments, hurt comes to all. It is up to us to stand back up, dust ourselves off and move forward.

Q. Who has been most influential in your life?
A. I have been blessed to be the daughter of two of the greatest parents. My dad, Rev. John Bryant, my mother, Sarah Ray Bryant. My dad is now 86 and still preaching at my home church. My mom, 85 and doing great! They have always been supportive and full of wisdom. When I am doubting a decision, just not completely sure, I go to them for wisdom and respect their opinions.

My husband of 46 years, Malcolm is my rock. He stands by my side and picks me up when I fall down. I am so thankful that God sent him to me.

Q. What is the best advice your have ever received?
A.
The best advice I have received is, “put God first, honor your parents that your days may be long, work hard, do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” I think if one can do all these, you will go far.

Hobbies/What You Like To Do In Your Spare Time:
I love playing piano. I have been at it since the third grade. Mrs. Jennings Kerr taught me for several years. She said I could go far if I practiced every day. I have tried to do that. I play in church and have most of my life. I enjoy a beach day just to sit and enjoy the beauty. My husband and I enjoy going to the mountains from time to time with our motorcycle. We ride for miles and miles without saying a word, just in awe of God’s creation.

Q. What is the key to success?
A.
My key to success has been keeping God first in my life. To have things in this life, one must work hard, but also not forgetting the smallest of things all around us.
