Car And Truck Show Event To Benefit Homeless And Less Fortunate Veterans

A car and truck show was held in the Roses’ parking lot on Saturday, May 25.
Buster Furniss was in charge. Furniss and many volunteers including some motorcyclists from Florence worked on this show. The funds from this event were to benefit the homeless and less fortunate veterans of Dillon County.
Plans are underway for another event later in the year.
The winners are as follows in the categories: up to ’81 cars, first place Dale Smith; second place Ronald Jacobs. ’82 and newer cars, first place Dan King; second place Jessica Furniss. Trucks up to ’82, first place Steve Hardy; second place Thomas McRae. ’82 and up, first place Johnny Brigman; second place Daniel Myers. Motorcycles, first place Travis Rowell; second place Tony Moore. Best overall Rat Rod, first place Ricky Furniss. Off road trucks, first place Danny Caulder. Best overall cars up to ’81, first place Terry Morris. All trucks, first place Malcolm Willoughby. Best motorcycle, first place Wesley Lane.
