The City of Dillon, the Town of Latta, and the Town of Lake View will all be holding elections on Tuesday, April 8th. Filing for office ended today, Monday, February 3, for the elections in Dillon and Latta. The election filing period was January 10th-17th for Lake View. Below is a listing of who is running for office.
CITY OF DILLON
DISTRICT ONE: Danielle Smith and Keshia Hayes
DISTRICT THREE: Johnny Eller and Chip Huggins
DISTRICT FIVE: Jay David
DISTRICT SIX: Phil Wallace
(Editor’s Note: District One is the Seat vacated by James Washington when he went to serve on Dillon County Council. This seat expires in April 2027. The other seats expire in April 2029.)
The election will take place on Tuesday, April 8th. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. If a run-off is necessary, it would take place on Tuesday, April 22nd,
The polling places are as follows:
-Districts One and Three-Dillon County Fire Station One (201 West Howard Street, Dillon) and Dillon Middle School (1803 Joan Drive, Dillon)
-District Five- Dillon City W.B. Carmichael Fire Station (209 South Eighth Avenue, Dillon) and Dillon Middle School (1803 Joan Drive, Dillon)
-District Six- Dillon Middle School (1803 Joan Drive, Dillon)
Citizens who wish to vote in this election must be registered to vote by March 8, 2025.
TOWN OF LATTA
This is a special election to fill the seat vacated by Brad Coward when he went to serve on Dillon County Council. The term for the Latta seat ends on December 31, 2025.
Filing for this seat were Kevin Drawhorn and Melinda Robinson.
The election will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. The polling place is the Latta Arts Center, NW Railroad Avenue, Latta, across from the Latta Town Hall. Citizens who wish to vote in this election must be registered to vote by March 8, 2025.
TOWN OF LAKE VIEW
The Town of Lake View will have elections for mayor and town council.
Filing for mayor were: Sterling Lee and David Suggs
Filing for Town Council (two seats) were: Mitsey Church, Ryan Price, Teresa Boyd, Felicia Nance, and Eddie Ford, Jr.
The election will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. The polling place is the Lake View Community Center, 106 Richard Temple Blvd., Lake View,. Citizens who wish to vote in this election must be registered to vote by March 8, 2025.
