The Aynor Lady Blue Jackets edged the Dillon Lady Wildcats 1-0 in the 3-A Lower State playoff held in Aynor on Friday, May 17.
Although the Dillon Lady Wildcats out-hit the Aynor Lady Blue Jackets 3 to 2, the Lady Wildcats came up short in their quest of a Lower State Championship. However, the Lady Wildcats had a great season!
Aynor got on board in the bottom of the fourth inning when Riley Rabon singled that scored a run. Alivia Hess had a double in 3 at-bats. M. Brown was hit by a pitch. M. Johnson garnered a walk.
Dillon’s Paige Sherman, Cierra Grice, and Makeena Meekins each got a hit in 3 at-bats. Cierra Grice and Makeena Meekins each stole a base.
Paige Sherman took the loss. She pitched 6 innings and allowed 2 hits, allowed 1 earned run, walked 1, and struck out 5.
M. Johnson picked up the win. She pitched 6 innings and allowed 3 hits, no runs, walked no one, and struck out 10.
