A large crowd turned out to celebrate Aviation Week at the Marion County Airport. Director Charles Taylor said he appreciated everyone turning out and said the airport is here to stay and was moving forward. He thanked the County Administrator Chavis Watford and the Marion County Council for their support of the airport. Administrator Watford said she was excited that everyone was here for the event and she thanked Charles Taylor for working to improve aviation in Marion County. She said there is more to come. She thanked members of the S.C. Aeronautics Commission for attending this special occasion. After the remarks, Myrt Johnson, pastor, offered a blessing. Everyone enjoyed a delicious barbecue lunch prepared by Taylor and a variety of desserts.
