Gatorback Cycle Park located in Alachua, FL held its 52nd annual national event called “MiniOs” meaning mini olympics. This year’s event featured a record high 6,000 entries lining up for a chance at a national championship. As you can tell this is no easy task but one of our hometown athletes did just that bringing a championship back home to Hamer, S.C. Austin Schafer has been training hard at SOBMX a motocross training facility starting at the age 3 years old. SOBMX is located at South of the Border and is home to many other riders both professional and amateur. Winning any championship is hard but the class Austin won is one of the toughest. Austin would go on to winning the Colleboy championship with 1st and 3rd place scores. For our hometown champ the work is not done! Austin is set to compete in multiple other national events in 2025. We plan to cover more of this journey to the top with one of our own.
