The Boom Squad faced off against the Apply Pressure Barber Shop team in the 11- and 12-year old division of the tackle football league in the City of Dillon on the recreational football fields with the new lighting system.
The Boom Squad attempted an onside kick that did not go the required 10 yards. So, the Apply Pressure Barber Shop took possession on the Boom Squad’s 45-yard line.
The Boom Squad’s #24 scored with 44 seconds remaining in the first quarter. The Boom Squad’s #4 was sacked on the 2-point conversion attempt.
The Boom Squad’s #17 kicked off, and the Apply Pressure Barber Shop’s #1 returned the kickoff. The Apply Pressure Barber Shop team could not muster a first down on the first 3 plays and elected to go for it on the fourth down. However, the Boom Squad got a sack on the fourth down and took over on downs on the Apply Pressure Barber Shop’s 40-yard line.
After the Boom Squad picked up a couple of first downs, the Apply Pressure Barber Shop’s defense arose to the occasion and stopped the Boom Squad and took over on downs.
The Apply Pressure Barber Shop’s #3 scored as time expired in the first half. Apply Pressure Barber Shop’s #20 rushed for the 2-point conversion to take an 8-6 lead at halftime.
The defensive battle continued in the second half as only 6 points was scored by Apply Pressure Barber Shop.
