The Lake View Lady Wild Gators defeated the Latta Lady Vikings 7-4 in varsity softball action played in Lake View on Tuesday, April 9, to claim Lake View Head Coach Brandy Huggins’ 200th win!
The Latta Vikings held a 1-0 lead after the first inning of play. Neither team could muster a score in the second inning. Lake View added 3 runs in the third inning while Latta added a run. After 3 innings of play, Lake View was up 4-2. After a scoreless fourth inning, Lake View managed to get 2 runs added to the scoreboard to go up 5-2. In the sixth inning, Lake View added 2 runs to go up 7-2. In Latta’s last at-bat, the Lady Vikings scored 2 runs to cut the lead to 3 runs, 7-4 for Lake View’s win.
Raven Locklear pitched 7 innings and allowed 6 hits, 4 strike-outs, 1 HBP, 7 walks, and 4 runs to claim the win for the Lady Wild Gators.
Latta’s Maddie Berry took the loss. She pitched 4 and 1/3 innings and allowed 7 hits, 5 runs, struck out 9, and walked 2.
Emma King led Lake View with 4 hits and 2 rbi in 4 at-bats. Hanna Coburn added 2 hits and 3 rbi in 4 at-bats. Raven Locklear had a hit and a rbi in 3 at-bats. Zy’Kiara Waters and
