Comment period: August 1 to August 31, 2024

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) in partnership with the Pee Dee Regional Council of Governments (PDCOG) propose improvements to the intersection of SC 9 and S-30 (Pleasant Hill Road) located in Dillon County.
The proposed design will improve geometric design where Pleasant Hill Road converges with SC 9. The current skewed angle will be replaced with a 70 degree intersection. Additionally, a dedicated left-turn lane will be created on SC 9 east for travelers turning north onto Pleasant Hill Road and a dedicated left-turn lane on Pleasant Hill Road south for travelers turning east onto SC 9.
These changes will improve the geometric design and improve the overall operations of the intersection.

PROJECT PURPOSE:
The purpose of these project is to improve the geometric design and improve the overall operations at the intersection by correcting the skewed alignment and adding two left-turn lanes.
