Two Additional Arrests Made In June 16th Homicide In Dillon County

Investigators with the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office have made two additional arrests in connection with the homicide that occurred on June 16, 2026.

On July 7, 2026, Jacobie Palmer was taken into custody in Lake City and charged with Murder, Attempted Murder, Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime, and Possession of a Weapon by a Person Convicted of Certain Crimes.
On July 8, 2026, Jhy’meir Cook was taken into custody in Dillon County and charged with Murder, Attempted Murder, and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime.

As a result of this investigation, three individuals have now been arrested and eleven firearms have been seized. Investigators continue to actively pursue leads, and additional arrests and charges are possible.
