MG Frost was born and reared in Latta, South Carolina, and following college, had a distinguished 31-year Army career rising to the rank of general grade officer. At the time of her retirement in April 2005, she was the senior woman officer in the United States Army. She had combat tours of deployments to Operation Desert Storm, the War in Afghanistan, and the War in Iraq. She retired from the Army due to illness and died in 2006. She is buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
The public is invited to attend the Memorial Day program to honor America’s veterans who died in wars, to hear the bell toll and the names read aloud of all Dillon County veterans who have died since last Memorial Day, and to join with the family and friends of MG Kathryn George Frost as we celebrate together her distinguished life and Army career.
