Dillon Police Department Announces Apprehension Of Wanted Murder Suspect

The Dillon Police Department is pleased to announce the successful apprehension of a wanted individual, Howard Antonyo “AlleyCat” Fields on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
Fields who was wanted in connection with a murder that occurred within the city limits of Dillon on March 23,2026, was taken into custody by officers without incident in the Hamer area.
Chief Herring would like to recognize the efforts of our officers, investigators, and assisting agencies including the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office, Dillon County Coroner’s Office, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) whose coordination and tireless efforts led to this outcome.
Fields has been transported to the Dillon County Detention Center where he is currently awaiting a bond hearing. All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
The City of Dillon Police Department remains committed to ensuring the safety of our community and will continue to actively pursue individuals who pose a threat to public safety.
