The Wilson Lady Tigers edged the Dillon Lady Wildcats 10-9 in varsity softball played at Wilson on Monday, March 9.
Wilson placed 4 runs onto the scoreboard in the bottom of the first inning, added 5 runs in the second inning, and a run in the third inning.
Dillon placed 5 runs onto the scoreboard in the top of the second inning, a run in the top of the fourth inning, and 3 runs in the top of the sixth inning.
Dillon’s Zoee Chavis pitched 3.2 innings and faced 17 batters. She allowed 1 hit (a home run), 1 earned run, walked 5, and struck out 7. Jayla Wright pitched 2.1 innings and faced 18 batters. She allowed 9 runs of which 5 were earned. She walked 1 and struck out 5.
Wilson’s Lauren Sehnke picked up the win for the Lady Tigers. She pitched 7 innings and allowed 10 hits, 9 earned runs, walked 5, and struck out 6 while facing 36 batters.
