The Lake View Lady Wild Gators shutout the Mullins Lady Auctioneers 10-0 in varsity softball action played in Lake View on Thursday, March 5.
Lake View enjoyed Senior night prior to the game. Haley Miller, #26; Kaleigh Blackmon, #10; and Ally Joye, #15, were honored.
Lake View’s #18 was on the mound and pitched a 3-inning shutout. She struck out 8 and walked 2 in the game.
Mullins’ #20 started on the mound.
Lake View’s leadoff hitter, #6, arrived to first base on an error and advanced to second. Lake View’s #17 hit one to left for a triple and a rbi. Lake View’s #4 walked and moved to second on a passed ball. Lake View’s #14 walked to load the bases. Lake View’s #20 arrived to first on an error and a run scored to give Lake View a 2-0 lead. Lake View’s #18 popped up to second for out 2. Lake View’s #21 struck out watching. After 1 inning of play, the Lady Wild Gators led 2-0.
The Lady Auctioneers #10 took the mound in the top of the second inning. Lake View added 4 runs in the bottom of the second inning and tacked on 4 more in the bottom of the third inning.
Lake View’s head coach is Brandy Huggins.
Brooke Kirkland is Mullins’ head coach.
Lake View will travel to Johnsonville on Tuesday, March 10, for a 6:00 p.m. game.
Mullins will host Virtus Academy on Thursday, March 12, at 5:00 p.m.
