Daniel Smith was honored at the monthly meeting of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6091 for finishing third in South Carolina’s VFW Patriots Pen essay contest. This year’s theme was “How Are You Showing Patriotism and Support for Our Country?” Daniel won at the district level and competed at the state level, which included representation from eight districts and over sixty VFW posts. In the accompanying photo, Post Senior Vice Commander Danielle Smith, Daniel Smith, and Post Commander Joey Williams present Daniel with a check and a plaque honoring his achievement.
