The Dillon Lady Wildcats defeated the Georgetown Lady Bulldogs 63-36 in varsity basketball action played in Georgetown on Tuesday, February 10.
With the win, Dillon is 20-2 overall and 9-0 in region play and in first place. Georgetown is 4-18 overall and 3-6 in region play and in fourth place.
Dillon held Georgetown scoreless in the first quarter while placing 18 points onto the scoreboard. By halftime, Dillon was up 38-9. After 3 quarters of play, the Lady Wildcats led 54-22.
Dillon’s Khw-Nylahi McKinnon led all scorers with 21 points. She had three 3-point baskets, three 2-point baskets, and converted 6 of 8 free throws. Treasure Davis added 15 points with five 2-point baskets, a 3-point basket, and 2 free throws. Azyriah Ford placed 14 points onto the scoreboard with three 3-point baskets, two 2-point baskets, and a free throw. Zyniyah Pernell connected with a 3-point basket, a 2-point basket, and a free throw for 6 points. Alyssa Lee added two 2-point baskets for 4 points. Jiana McGill had a 2-point basket. Jaleah Bethea had a free throw.
Georgetown’s N. Gaston led the Lady Bulldogs with 18 points. She had four 3-point baskets and three 2-point baskets. C. Lee added two 3-point baskets for 6 points. T. Davis and E. Ward each had a 2-point basket and a free throw for 3 points each. N. Morris, R. Gilison, and T. Linnen each had a 2-point basket.
Dillon committed 8 fouls in the first half and 5 fouls in the second half. Georgetown committed 8 fouls in the first half and 8 fouls in the second half.
