The Lake View Lady Wild Gators won 41-30 over the visiting Johnsonville Lady Flashes in varsity basketball action played in Lake View on Thursday, December 18.
Lake View was up 18-11 after the first quarter of play. The Lady Wild Gators led 24-16 at halftime. After 3 quarters of play, Lake View was up 31-21.
Each team committed 4 fouls in the first quarter. Lake View committed only 2 fouls in the second quarter while Johnsonville committed 5 fouls. The Lady Wild Gators committed 5 fouls in the third quarter, and Johnsonville committed 4 fouls. In the final quarter, Lake View committed 3 fouls while Johnsonville was guilty of only 1 foul.
Lake View’s Zy’Kiara Waters led all scorers with 13 points. she had four 2-point baskets, one 3-point basket, and 2 free throws. Callie Smith added 9 points to the scoreboard with three 2-point baskets and a 3-point basket. Shayla Johnson had three 2-point baskets for 6 points. Sophia Roges had a 3-point basket and a free throw for 4 points. Kirsten McClellan had two 2-point baskets to add 4 points to the scoreboard. Ny’kya Jones had a 2-point basket and a free throw for 3 points. Dasiree Dawkins added a 2-point basket.
Johnsonville’s Kassidi Thompkins led the Lady Flashes with two 2-point baskets and 4 free throws for 8 points. Peyton Singletary added 7 points to the scoreboard with two 2-point baskets and 3 free throws. Shy Alston had a 3-point basket and a 2-point basket for 5 points. Zya Skinner and Kayle Doctor each had two 2-point baskets for 4 points each.
