Former Dillon County Administrator Clay Young along with Rita Williams Livingston have written a book called “South Carolina’s Courthouses.”
This labor of love, which took nearly 12 years to complete, features every courthouse in South Carolina. The fascinating stories they tell brings each building to life.
The 396-page book not only features information on the hidden history and architectural wonders of each courthouse, it also explores the formation of the South Carolina County Courthouses, the South Carolina Supreme Court, and the South Carolina Court of Appeals. There are 700 pictures in this coffee table size book.
For those interested in the Dillon County Courthouse, there are 8 pages dedicated to this historic structure. There are 6 pages on the Marion County Courthouse, and 6 pages on the Marlboro County Courthouse. The courthouses in all 46 counties are in the book.
