The Latta Lady Vikings advanced to Round 3 of the SCHSL 1-A Lower State playoffs with a 3-0 win over the Carvers Bay Lady Bears in a varsity volleyball game played in Latta on Monday, October 27.
Although the Lady Vikings took set 1 25-12 and set 2 25-14, they found themselves trailing 17-6. The Lady Vikings fought to get back into the set and eventually tied the score at 20 before winning 25-21.
Latta’s Alyiah Tisdale had 3 aces, 6 kills, and 2 blocks. Madison Stevens had 2 aces, 8 kills, and 5 digs. Samantha Townsend had 2 aces and 10 digs. Lillie Jordan had 9 kills. Ahyliah Smiling had 10 kills. Chayse Walters had 25 assists and 7 digs. Maliyah Bethea had 3 blocks.
Round 3 of the SCHSL 1-A Lower State playoffs will be held Wednesday, October 29, at Latta School. The Lady Vikings will face the region rival Johnsonville with game time at 6:00 p.m.
Latta’s head coach is Genesis Anderson. The assistant coaches are Amber Jordan and Shelley Marsch.
