Dillon Defeated Aynor 34-8 In JV Football

The Dillon Wildcats defeated the Aynor Blue Jackets 34-8 in junior varsity football action played in Dillon on Thursday, October 9.
The game was played in fall-like temperatures.
Dillon kicked off to Aynor to begin the action. On the third offensive play, Aynor fumbled, Dillon’s #3 carried 35 yards for a touchdown with 7:01 remaining in the first quarter. The snap got away on the PAT. Dillon led 6-0.
Dillon’s #43 kicked off to place Aynor on their own 29-yard line. Aynor punted on a fourth down and 5 yards to go.
At the end of the first quarter, Dillon was on top 6-0.
With 9:49 remaining in the first half, Dillon’s #15 completed a pass to Dillon’s #0 for a 48-yard score. The PAT by Dillon’s #43 was good. Dillon led 13-0.
Dillon’s #43 kicked off to Aynor. Within only a few moments, Dillon’s #6 recovered a fumble on Aynor’s 22-yard line. Dillon’s #22 rushed for a 2-yard TD with 5:51 remaining in the second quarter. The PAT was good by #43. Dillon led 20-0.
Aynor began on their own 19-yard line after the kickoff. Aynor was forced to punt.
Dillon’s #3 was on the end of touchdown pass with 59 seconds remaining in the first half that was nullified due to a penalty. Aynor’s #30 intercepted a pass with 20 seconds remaining in the first half. The first half ended with Dillon on top 20-0.
The third quarter began with Dillon’s #7 returning the kickoff for big yardage but the play was called back due to a penalty. Dillon was deep in their own territory when forced to punt. Dillon’s punt carried to their own 25-yard line.
With 5:59 remaining in the third quarter, Aynor’s #31 scored from the 4-yard line. Aynor’s #14 rushed for the 2-point conversion to cut Dillon’s lead to 20-8.
Aynor attempted an onside kick, but Dillon prevailed at their own 45-yard line. The Wildcats wasted no time as #7 caught a pass and carried it for the 55-yard touchdown with 5:19 remaining in the third quarter. The PAT was good by Dillon’s #43. Dillon led 27-8.
Dillon’s defense prevailed, and Aynor was forced to punt.
Dillon’s #15 kept followed by a completed pass to Dillon’s #1 for a first down. Trey Coward, #8, was on the receiving end of a 9-yard pass. Dillon’s #15 scored with 9:53 remaining in the third quarter. The PAT was good by Dillon’s #43. Dillon was up 34-8.
