Columbia, S.C. (May 16, 2024) – The South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks public comment on the action to amend the 2024-2025 Pavement Improvement Program. SCDOT will receive public comment for a 21-day period from May 16, 2024 through June 6, 2024.
In accordance with Act 114 of 2007, these projects, located on major roads, farm to market secondary roads, and neighborhood streets, were selected for funding utilizing ranking processes that are based on objective and quantifiable factors. They also comply with the Ten-Year Plan, support the performance targets established in the Transportation Asset Management Plan, and utilize a county-by-county distribution of paving funds in order to ensure that every county of the state is guaranteed paving funds.
The additional 727+ miles of paving projects contained in the 2024-2025 Pavement Improvement Program will be added to the previously approved 7,047+ miles of paving projects advanced since the implementation of Act 40 of 2017 and incorporated into the “New Gas Tax Trust Fund” transparency and accountability reports.
