An arrest has been made in the homicide of Quentin Stafford Berry.
On 03/21/2024 at approximately 9:48 p.m., deputies were dispatched to 2602 Amherst Court, Dillon, in reference to someone being shot. Upon arrival deputies located a victim and rendered aid, but unfortunately the victim, Quentin Stafford Berry, succumbed to his injuries.
At this time, an extensive investigation began into this matter. Law Enforcement from numerous agencies worked for countless hours on this case to be able to bring justice for this individual and his family.
Through this investigation law enforcement was able to identify a suspect, and on May 13th, 2024, the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office obtained arrest warrants. The suspect was identified as Monte Lee Armstrong, 63 of Summerton. The suspect is in currently in custody and being held in the Dillon County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
Sheriff Hamilton wants to express his gratitude to his staff at Dillon County Sheriff’s Office, Florence County Sheriff’s Office, Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office, Fourth Circuit Solicitor’s Office, ATF, the Assistant United States Attorney’s Office, and the citizens of Dillon County for all the hard work and efforts put into this case.
