Kevin McLellan, Band director at Dillon Middle School, is stepping into the role of Tri-M Music Honor Society State Chair for the South Carolina Music Educators Association (SCMEA).
“As the Band Director at Dillon Middle School, I’ve witnessed firsthand how powerful music can be in shaping students into leaders, scholars, and service-minded individuals. That’s exactly what Tri-M is all about—honoring excellence in music, academics, leadership, and service among middle and high school students,” said McLellan.
As State Chair, McLellan is committed to:
– Empowering current Tri-M chapters across South Carolina with fresh ideas, support, and recognition opportunities.
– Encouraging more music programs to charter Tri-M chapters and offer students this incredible platform for leadership and service
– Connecting student musicians across our state through collaboration, performances, and meaningful community impact.
– Celebrating the achievements of our music students and the educators who guide them.
“If you’re a music teacher, band director, choir director or orchestra director in South Carolina and haven’t yet started a Tri-M chapter at your school—or want to take your chapter to the next level—I’m here to help,” McLellan said.
