POSITION
Elementary Music Teacher,
YEARS IN EDUCATION
I am currently in my sixth year in education, having previously taught at Gordon Elementary, East Elementary, and Dillon High School. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and a Master of Education in Higher Education.
I not only teach general music but also support the middle and high school band programs as assistant band director. I am an active member of the South Carolina Band Directors Association (SCBDA), where I serve on the All-State Committee, as well as the National Association for Music Educators (NAfME). I am also a proud member of Kappa Kappa Psi, the national honorary band fraternity (Kappa Pi Chapter).
WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS SCHOOL YEAR?
This year, I’m especially excited to continue expanding our small ensemble work and to explore new possibilities with classroom instruments. I’m also looking forward to welcoming back some of my returning vocal students and building on the musical foundation we’ve created together.
FUN FACT
I’ve been involved in music since the 7th grade and was inspired to teach by my own band directors. I play several instruments, but my favorite is the trumpet.
