South Carolina Game Wardens Promote Clean Roadways

South Carolina – The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division spent Friday morning rewarding citizens for doing their part to keep the state litter-free.
Friday, June 6, is National Secure Your Load Day, a day to recognize the importance of securing items in your truck or trailer for both safety and litter control reasons.
The Secure Your Load safety campaign aims to reduce litter on roads and estimates that 20-40% of road pollution comes from unsecured loads. It is also estimated that the United States spends approximately $11.5 billion per year to clean up roadside litter.
SCDNR’s Game Wardens did their part to make sure South Carolinians with properly covered loads were recognized for their efforts, handing out “I Got Caught” cards at recycling and collection centers across the state on Friday. Those who earned “I Got Caught” cards are rewarded with free milkshakes from Sonic.
South Carolina’s Game Wardens are committed to upholding the laws of the state, tackling vital issues such as boating under the influence, illegal hunting and littering. We thank them for their commitment to help create safer roads and a cleaner environment for everyone.
