A Tent Crusade Meeting was held on Thursday, May 29, at Second Baptist Church, Dillon.
This event is organized by Follow Me Crusade who is partnering with Pastor C. T. Townsend Ministries and local pastors and churches in the area.
It will take place Sunday-Thursday, October 19th-23rd and Sunday-Thursday, October 26th-30th. It will take place on property owned by Conner Bracey on Highway 9 next to I-95 near Dillon Furniture Manufacturing.
Mitchell Gough of Follow Me Crusade and Pastor Richie Hicks led the meeting. This could be a historical event for Dillon County. It came about when Pastor Richie Hicks witnessed what happened with the crusades held in Clarendon, Sumter, and Lake City and asked that the big tent come to Dillon. Gough said Pastor Hicks told him he wanted to see God move one more time in this town. Today, it is all becoming a reality.
Preparations began almost a year ago and meetings are held often to discuss upcoming needs.
This is an urgency of the hour as the Crusade will be in about 4 and ½ months.
Twenty-three pastors and churches have already “signed up” for the crusade. Efforts are being made to enlist up to 60 churches to participate.
Pastor Richie Hicks stated ” In June we have to grow and reach out to others. In July we will have the flyers to distribute. We are adding more gospel groups for the Tent Revival. July will be a time to put it all together. We will have great preachers for this!”
As the youth are important, Sunday and Monday nights will be “special for the youth, but also others.” In fact, in Dillon County under the direction of Carol Edwards, the DCA is 500 strong!.
The pastors who attended were asked to commit to calling other pastors. The committee wants to cover at least a 30-mile area around Dillon.
Many prayers have been lifted for this Tent Revival and much work has been done in preparation.
