Students Can Be Trained For Career In Nail Technology At Dillon County Technology Center

The job outlook for Nail Technicians is strong with a 12 percent growth in the profession expected by 2033.
Students can be trained in this profession right here at the Dillon County Technology Center.
Nail Technology 1, 2, 3, and 4 for grade levels 11 and 12. is taught by Tabatha Bowen. The courses must be taken sequentially. One must pass Nail Technology 1 with a minimum of a 75 average and a minimum of 120 hours before taking Nail Technology 2. One must pass Nail Technology 2 with a minimum of a 75 average and a minimum of 240 clock hours before taking Nail Technology 3, and one must pass Nail Technology 3 with a minimum of a 75 average and a minimum of 360 hours before taking Nail Technology 4 (optional). Completer requirements: (300 hours Nail Technology and 60 hours S.C. Department of Education and a minimum 3 courses and 3 units to be a completer.)
Nail Technolgy is a program that prepares individuals to shape fingernails and toenails, remove unwanted skin and blemishes, apply polish and cosmetics to nails, and function as licensed manicurists or nail technicians/specialists. Some of the senior nail techs are taking practical exams and theory exams that the school pays for the students.
