Classmates of Lake View High School Class of 1962 held their annual reunion on Saturday afternoon, May 17th, 2025, at Dry Dock Seafood Restaurant in Mullins SC. It’s been 63 years since graduation day, and their ranks are thinning. In all, 10 classmates were able to attend plus guests totaling 18 for dinner and fellowship. Eddie Rogers welcomed everyone. Following the meal, time was set aside to fondly remember those school days, to catch up on current family happenings, and to eulogize 2 classmates. Cammie McCormick Calloway spoke about Betty Lou Miller Forster who died in August, and Coleen Moore Harlow spoke about Howard James Williams who died in December. Over the years, 24 members of the class have died. Lots of memories were shared throughout the night about those memorable teenage years at Lake View High School. Former longtime Lake View Mayor Boston Page is a member of the class and he and others from the 1962 LVHS State Champion Football Team shared football stories. Two of the 1962 class officers were present: Treasurer Eddie Rogers, and Reporter Jean Proctor Anderson. Some of the long-distance classmates from Florida, Texas, and California missed this reunion. Others came from Charlotte NC, Raeford, NC, Moncks Corner SC, and Charleston SC. The evening ended spending time around the table just enjoying being together as old school friends. A special thanks was given to the reunion committee members Jean Proctor Anderson, Sandra Miller Britt, Carolyn (Babe) Arnette Rogers, Betty Sue Hayes Moody, Nancy Johnson Gaddy, Cammie McCormick Calloway, and Coleen Moore Harlow. Plans have already begun for next year’s class reunion.
