The Hannah-Pamplico Raiders handed the Latta Vikings a 6-1 loss in the first game to force a second game.
Caden Lee was on the mound for the Latta Vikings. Hannah-Pamplico’s #17 was on the mound for the Raiders.
Neither team crossed home plate for the first 2 and ½ innings. In the bottom of the third inning, Mason Weatherford hit a hot one up the middle for a single. Logan Byrd tapped one into left for a single to place base runners on first and second. BW Berry hit a fly to center and was out but Latta scored to take a 1-0 lead after the third inning.
In the top of the fifth inning, Wade Poston hit a slow one up the middle that was mishandled to allow him to arrive at first safely. The Raiders’ #5 sac bunted to move the base runner to second. #8 popped up to left for out 2. #22 hit a grounder to third. The throw was off, and the base runner scored to tie the game at 1.
After 6 innings of play, the game was still tied at 1.
In the final inning, Hannah-Pamplico scored 5 runs to take a 6-1 win and force game 2.
