Makayla Huggins Signs With Florence-Darlington Technical College

Makayla Huggins signed at the next level in her education and softball career to attend Florence Darlington Technical College on Thursday, April 24.
The signing took place at the Dillon High School gymnasium.
Huggins was surrounded by family, coaching staff, and friends.
Huggins has been playing softball since she was 7 years old and has been influenced mostly by family and friends who have played softball. She will always keep gong and not give up as she pursues her education and softball career, the same way she did while at Dillon High School.
Although Huggins received other offers, she believes she should fit well at Florence Darlington Technical College as it is close to home and she knows most of the young ladies who play softball there.
While at Dillon, she won All-Region.
Huggins recalls the home run that she hit in Beaufort to help Dillon High School win District.
Huggins enjoys softball and hanging out with family and friends.
While not playing or practicing softball, she will be concentrating on her studies as she will major in radiology.
Her parents, Adrienne and Clint are very proud of Makayla’s accomplishments to this point. They are excited to see what she accomplishes in the future.
Head Softball Coach Stevie Grice stated ” Makayla has been a 4-year starter and a big hitter in our lineup. She has played since the ninth grade first at first base for 2 years and now 2 years as catcher. She has always batted in the middle of our lineup. She is dedicated to softball and has a good attitude. We are going to miss her.”
Assistant Softball Coach Will Clark and Assistant Softball Coach Twin Lester are very proud of her accomplishments and look forward to her career at Florence Darlington Technical College.
