The Georgetown Lady Bulldogs handed the Dillon Lady Wildcats a loss in junior varsity softball action played in Dillon on Friday, April 4 . On the mound for Dillon was #14.
Georgetown led 1-0 after ½ inning of play. Dillon knotted the score at 1 after the first inning as the catcher attempted to pick off a runner at third base, the softball traveled into left field for the score. Dillon left a base runner stranded on third base. On the mound for Georgetown was #10.
After retiring the first batter in the top of the second inning, the second batter for Georgetown garnered a walk. The Bulldog’s #17 hit a grounder to third base and was out at first. The base runner at first moved to second. #24 hit a grounder to first and an error allowed the runner to be safe. Base runners were on the corners. The base runner on first advanced to second. Two base runners were stranded.
In the bottom of the second inning, Dillon loaded the bases and two scored to give Dillon a 3-1 lead.
In the top of the third inning, Georgetown quickly tied the score at 3 and added 6 more runs to go up 9-3.
Dillon was retired in 1-2-3 fashion in the bottom of the third inning with the Bulldogs up 9-3.
The 1-3 Dillon Lad Wildcats will travel to Waccamaw on Tuesday, April 8, for a 5:00 p.m. game.
The 4-2 Georgetown Lady Bulldogs will travel to Andrews for a 5:30 p.m. game on Tuesday, April 8.
