Northeastern Technical College (NETC) has introduced a state-of-the-art Forklift Simulator at Latta High School to enhance hands-on learning opportunities for dual enrollment students. The simulator will play a key role in NETC’s Warehouse Logistics Certification program, providing students with essential training in forklift operations within a safe and controlled environment.
The Forklift Simulator has been installed at Latta High School and will be utilized by students beginning March 24th, as part of a five-week spring term course held after school hours. This initiative is designed to equip students with practical skills that are highly valued in the logistics and warehousing industry, preparing them for future career opportunities.
This project has been made possible through funding provided by the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) grant and NETC’s partnership with Dillon County School District 3, whose support has been instrumental in bringing this project to fruition.
“The installation of the Forklift Simulator at Latta High School is a major step in providing students with hands-on, career-focused education that meets industry needs,” said NETC President, Dr. Kyle Wagner. “We are committed to equipping our students with the skills and training necessary to thrive in today’s workforce.”
By integrating cutting-edge technology into the curriculum, NETC continues to strengthen its commitment to workforce development and student success. The college looks forward to seeing the positive impact this training tool will have on students and their future career paths.
