LATTA — Johnny Edward Martin, 81, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 Friday, January 17, 2025 at Latta Baptist Church with Rev. Rob Pierce officiating. Burial in Catfish Creek Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday prior to the service at the church.
Born in Marion County, August 6, 1943, he was the son of the late Johnnie Martin and Emma Powers Martin. He was a member of Latta Baptist Church and was a loving PaPa to everyone.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Carolyn Smith Martin of Latta; daughter, Debbie Williams of Latta; son, Paul Martin of Marion; special granddaughter, Marissa Williams of Latta; grandchildren, Crista Martin (Bryce), Ceisha Martin, Cora Martin, & Koye Martin; 1 great-grandchild, Jaxon Putnam; sisters, Doris Anderson of Pennsylvania, Jane Williamson (Dale), & Ellen Hayes all of Latta; brother, Frederick “Teenie” Martin (Rita) of Latta; several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie & Emma Martin; sister, Emma Lee Martin; brother, Jerry Martin; & granddaughter, Clarissa Martin.
