Mullins Defeats Lake City

The Mullins Auctioneers defeated the Lake City Panthers 64-39 in a varsity conference basketball game played in Mullins on Thursday, December 19.
After the first quarter of play, the game was tied at 19. The second quarter was a low-scoring event as only 6 points were placed onto the scoreboard by Mullins and no points by Lake City. In the third quarter, Mullins outscored Lake City 22-8. In the final quarter, Mullins added 17 points while holding Lake City to 12 points.
Mullins’ Deyon Ford led all scorers with 17 points. He connected for seven 2-point baskets and a 3-point basket. Dakarai Worley added 16 points with eight 2-point baskets. Ernest Ford placed 8 points onto the scoreboard with four 2-point baskets. A. Littlejohn added 5 points with two 2-point baskets and a free throw. S. Crawford and Amir Lee each had two 2-point baskets for 4 points. Jeremie Page added a 3-point basket. James Graves hit a 2-point basket while Mykell Raysor sank 2 free throws.
Lake City’s Devin Cockfield led the Panthers with 13 points. He connected for six 2-point baskets and a free throw. Kenjae Burgess added 7 points with two 3-point baskets and a free throw. Ka’Jon McClary added two 2-point baskets for 4 points. A’Mari Hanna and R J Matthews each sank a free throw and a 2-point basket for 3 points. Jeffery Burgess, F. Witherspoon, and Shayon Shavers each sank a 2-point basket. Antwain James sank 2 free throws. Shakeem Epps connected for a free throw.
Mullins will face South Brunswick at 5:00 p.m. today (Friday, December 20) at the Battle of the Bay Showcase.
