The Fairmont Lady Golden Tornadoes handed the Dillon Lady Wildcats a 54-41 loss on Tuesday, December 17, in the Robeson County Shootout.
Fairmont jumped out to an 18-6 lead after the first quarter of play. At halftime, Fairmont led 31-15. After 3 quarters of play, Fairmont was up 44-22.
Dillon’s Treasure Davis led the Lady Wildcats with 15 points. She sank five 2-point baskets and 5 free throws. Khwnylahi McKinnon added 14 points with two 2-point baskets, two 3-point baskets, and a free throw. Ayonna Lester placed 7 points onto the scoreboard with two 2-point baskets and a 3-point basket. Jiana McGill had two 2-point baskets. Azyiah Ford sank a free throw.
Fairmont’s Tanoya Simms led all scorers with 21 points. She sank nine 2-point baskets and 3 free throws. Khadyah Hunt added 13 points with six 2-point baskets and a free throw. Lyric McNair added three 2-point baskets and 2 free throws for 8 points. Shaniah Smith had a 2-point basket and 3 free throws for 5 points. Shamiah Smith had two 2-point baskets for 4 points. Duran had a 2-point basket. Laila Grady added a free throw.
