The Dillon Lady Wildcats defeated Crestwood Lady Knights 57-52 in Sumter on Wednesday, December 11.
Dillon led 16-12 after the first quarter of play while committing only 2 fouls while Crestwood committed 4 fouls.
Crestwood scored 13 points in the second quarter while holding Dillon to only 4 points. Crestwood committed 3 fouls while Dillon committed 2 fouls. At halftime, the Lady Knights led 25-20.
In the third quarter of play, Dillon connected for 12 points, and Crestwood connected for 15 points to increase the lead to 8 points, 40-32. Dillon committed 5 fouls, and Crestwood committed 4 fouls.
Dillon’s offense came alive in the fourth quarter and placed 25 points onto the scoreboard while holding Crestwood to 12 points to come from behind to knock off the Lady Knights 57-52.
Dillon’s Treasure Davis led all scorers with 27 points. She connected for nine 2-point baskets, a 3-point basket, and 6 free throws. Khwnylahi McKinnon added 18 points with six 2-point baskets, a 3-point basket, and 3 free throws. Ayonna Lester added a 3-point basket and a 2-point basket for 5 points. Zynijah Pernell hit a 3-point basket, and Jiana McGill and Azyriah Ford each had a 2-point basket.
Crestwood’s London Vaughn had 20 points as she connected with three 2-point baskets, four 3-point baskets, and 2 free throws. Javiah Martin added 14 points with four 3-point baskets and 2 free throws. Saniya Williams had two 2-point baskets, a 3-point basket, and 3 free throws to place 10 points onto the scoreboard. Jonee McClain had two 2-point baskets and 2 free throws for 6 points. Kemoni Davis hit a 2-point basket and a free throw for 3 points.
Dillon will travel to Conway Friday, December 13, for a 6:00 p.m. game. Dillon will travel to Marion on Saturday, December 14, for a 5:00 p.m. matchup. Dillon will participate in the Robeson County Shootout from December 18 through December 21.
Crestwood will travel to TCHS on Friday, December 13, for a 6:00 p.m. game. On Tuesday, December 17, Crestwood will host South Florence for a 6:00 p.m. matchup.
