Town of Lake View and VFW Post 6091 Host Veterans Breakfast

The Town of Lake View with The VFW POST 6091 sponsored a Veterans Breakfast at the Lake View Community Center hosted by Town of Lake View Mayor Sterling Lee.
Rev. Kenny McGill welcomed everyone to the event. The National Anthem was sung by Nikki Lee. The Blessing of the Food was Rev. Larry Abraham.
There were Presentations by Danielle Smith and John Johnson. The Guest Speaker was Brenda Arnette. Closing remarks were by Joey Williams and Tommy Hayes.
The Lake View Community Center is located at 106 Richard Temple Boulevard, Lake View, S.C.

On Saturday morning 11/9/2024, the Town of Lake View and the Dillon VFW teamed up for a breakfast for Veterans with speakers on Veterans Administration services and benefits available to Veterans ana their families. The 8:30AM breakfast/program was hosted by Lake View Mayor Sterling “Bull” Lee and VFW members Anthony Burden, Tommy Hayes, and Joey Williams who all welcomed the 85 +/- Veterans and thanked them for their military service. As part of the program opening, the Veterans stood and saluted while Lake View First Lady Nikki McKoy Lee sang the National Anthem. Following Breakfast, Mayor Sterling Lee made remarks to the Veterans. Danielle Smith of the VFW made a presentation about the SC VA Palmetto Pathfinder program that helps Veterans transition and thrive (www.scdva.sc.gov/palmetto-pathfinder-program). VFW VA Service Officer of VFW Department of SC in Columbia, John JJ Johnson (803.647.2442), spoke about available VA services and programs. VFW member Brenda Arnette spoke about the value of Veterans and how their military experiences contribute to the strength of our communities. The mayor closed the program by again thanking the Veterans for their service.
