Dillon County Youth Visit S.C. State University

On Saturday, October 19, 2024, Boys To Men and Girls With Purpose took a significant step in empowering local youth by participating in S.C. State University’s Youth Day activities. This event was informative and inspiring. The youth were welcomed by key figures from the university, including the school’s President and Vice President of Enrollment Management. Presentations from student leaders and Greek-letter organizations provided valuable insights into the university’s rich history and vibrant campus life. The experience didn’t stop there; a walking tour allowed students to explore the campus firsthand, fostering a deeper connection to their potential future. The highlight of the day was a concert by the S.C. State University Marching 101 Band, which added a lively touch to the event. The finale? A thrilling Bulldogs football game victory, which left a lasting impression on everyone. One particularly inspired 11th grader expressed a desire to attend the university after high school—proof of the event’s impact.
Boys To Men and Girls With Purpose are grateful to the Dillon County S.C. State University Alumni Association and AcaStemics owner Jerome McQueen Jr. for making this visit possible. This trip is just one of many planned to expose youth to the myriad opportunities available in South Carolina. We’re committed to mentoring young individuals in Dillon County, focusing on personal development, leadership, and community engagement.
