Cheraw defeated Dillon 24-6 in the 2024 SCAP Lower State Football Tournament 10U Division 2 played in Dillon at the City of Dillon Recreation Fields off of Hwy. 34 Dillon, S.C., on Saturday, November 2.
Cheraw’s #15 kept the football for a 48-yard touchdown with 3:13 remaining in the first quarter. Cheraw’s #15 passed to #2 for the 2-point conversion to go up 8-0
At the end of the first quarter, Cheraw had an 8-0 lead.
Neither team could muster a score in the second quarter.
Dillon scored a touchdown in the third quarter. The 2-point conversion attempt failed.
Cheraw scored a touchdown and a 2-point conversion to take a 16 to 6 lead. With 1:58 remaining in the third quarter, Cheraw’s #15 scored a touchdown. The 2-point pass from #15 to #2 was good for the 2-point conversion to give Cheraw a 24-6 lead.
Neither team scored in the fourth quarter. However, Cheraw threatened as they got to the 1-yard line of Dillon but were unable to cross for a touchdown. As time was running out, Dillon’s #7, Chase Coward, broke up a pass that prevented a score.
