Dillon Edges Waccamaw 47-39

The 7-2 Dillon Wildcats edged the 5-4 Waccamaw Warriors 47-39 at Pawley’s Island on Friday, October 25.
In the first quarter, Jamarion Fling scored from 1-yard out, and the Stephen Rojas’ PAT was good. Dillon led 7-0.
The Waccamaw Warriors responded with a 58-yard run and a PAT to knot the score at 7.
Jamarion Fling scored another 1-yard touchdown, and Stephen Rojas added the PAT to give Dillon a 14-7 lead.
Waccamaw scored a touchdown and added the 2-point conversion in the second quarter to take a 15-14 lead over the Wildcats.
Dillon’s Jamarion Fling scored on a 17-yard run in the second quarter to give Dillon a 20-15 lead. The 2-point conversion failed.
The Wildcats’ Jamarion Fling connected for a touchdown on a 13-yard run, and Stephen Rojas’ PAT was good. Dillon led 27-15.
The Warriors made the game more interesting in the third quarter with a 1-yard run and a 2-point conversion to cut Dillon’s lead to 4 points; Dillon led 27-23.
The Wildcats’ Jamarion Fling added another touchdown on a 7-yard run, and Stephen Rojas kicked the PAT to give Dillon a 34-23 lead.
But, the Warriors had not finished for the game as they scored a 35-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter and added a 2-point conversion to once again cut the lead to only 4 points; Dillon 34 and Waccamaw 31.
Jamarion Fling saw paydirt with a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter, and the Stehen Rojas’ PAT failed. Dillon led 41-31.
Dillon added another touchdown in the final quarter while Waccamaw added another touchdown and a 2-point conversion to make the final score Dillon 47 and Waccamaw 39.
Dillon ran a total of 65 plays for a total of 479 yards, and Waccamaw ran 52 plays for a total of 389 yards. Dillon had 120 passing yards, and Waccamaw had 56 passing yards. Dillon rushed for 359 yards, and Waccamaw rushed for 334 yards.
Dillon had 21 first downs. Dillon had 7 of 11 third down first downs. Waccamaw had 15 first downs. Waccamaw had 3 of 8 third down first downs.
Dillon’s Rahmond Hamilton completed 8 of 12 passes for 120 yards. Dillon’s Jamarion Fling carried the football 40 times for 276 yards and 6 touchdowns. Rahmond Hamilton carried the football 6 times for 58 yards and 1 touchdown. Zamarious Robertson rushed one time for 23 yards and had 4 receptions for 68 yards. Jalen McGill carried the pigskin twice for 2 yards. Daquavious Williams had 2 receptions for 35 yards.
On defense for Dillon: Dan Graves had 4 solo tackles and 1 assisted tackle. Keryien Brown had 3 solo tackles and 8 assisted tackles. Kelvion Manning had 2 solo tackles and 2 assisted tackles. Daniel Capehart had 1 solo tackle and 12 assisted tackles. JoTavious McCallister had 1 solo tackle and 3 assisted tackles. Kiele Pompey had a solo tackle and an assisted tackle. Tyler Huggins and Dayshawn Adams each had a solo tackle. Daquavious Williams had 4 assisted tackles. Azavion Deberry had 6 assisted tackles. Dontavius Tanksley had 5 assisted tackles. Tristan Blue had 3 assisted tackles. Gabriel Lloyd, Donterious Rogers, and Ja’Zier Walker each had an assisted tackle.
The Wildcats’ Dan Graves returned 3 kickoffs for a 20-yard average. Zamarious Robertson returned 2 kickoffs for a 28-yard average and returned a punt for 17 yards.
