Dillon Christian School Defeats Dorchester Academy

The Dillon Christian School Warriors defeated the visiting Dorchester Academy Raiders of St. George, S.C., in junior varsity football action played in Dillon on Thursday, October 24, before a good crowd of fans.
The Warriors wasted little time getting onto the scoreboard. With 7:35 remaining in the first quarter, the Warriors #1 scored after the reception. Dillon Christian School’s #5’s PAT was good. The Warriors led 7-0.
The Dorchester Raiders found themselves facing a fourth down and 7 yards to go on their first offensive series. The Raiders came up short with an incomplete pass, and the Warriors took over on Dorchester’s 40-yard line.
The Warriors’ #3 was stopped for a 3-yard loss on a good defensive play by Dorchester Academy. The Raiders intercepted a pass on their own 28-yard line.
Dorchester Academy turned the football over on downs. The Warriors took possession on the 30-yard line of the Raiders.
Dillon Christian School Warriors’ #1 scored a 30-yard touchdown after the reception. The PAT was good by #5. The Warriors led 14-0 with 2:01 remaining in the first quarter.
The Dillon Christian School kickoff went out of bounds, and the Raiders started on their own 35-yard line.
After the first quarter of play, the Warriors were up 14-0.
Dillon Christian School’s #1 intercepted a pass and returned it 38 yards for a touchdown but it was nullified by a penalty. The Warriors began to move the football again as #8 caught a pass for a first down. With 5:23 remaining in the first half, Dillon Christian School’s #11 kept for a touchdown. The PAT was no good. Dillon led 20-0.
After the kickoff, the Raiders picked up a first down but turned the football over on downs.
The Warriors completed 2 passes before the third pass was completed to #5 who scored with 22 seconds remaining in the first half. The Dillon Christian School Warriors were up 26-0 at halftime.


At halftime, the Dillon Christian School held the Homecoming Ceremony. The reigning 2023 Princess Aubrey Sherman was on hand to crown the 2024 Princess.
Those participating in the pursuit of the Princess included Anna Grace Frost, Adelynn Shooter, Kennedy Alexis Hunt, Emily Marie Wilson, Addison Rae Culclasure, Laurin Elizabeth King, Alayna Raelle Locklear, Isabella Grace Mussman, Pressley Blane Norris, and Kailey Chavon Sampson.
Isabella Grace Mussman and Pressley Blane Norris tied for second runners-up. Kailey Chavon Sampson was first runner-up. Laurin Elizabeth King was crowned 2024 Princess, and Anthony Weinel was crowned Prince.
