The Lake City Panthers handed the visiting Marion Swamp Foxes a 41-0 loss on Friday, October 18, in Lake City.
The Panthers kicked off to Marion to begin the game. With under 11 minutes remaining in the first quarter, Marion was on Lake City’s 35-yard line. Lake City’s defense responded with an interception on their own 20-yard line.
The Marion defense recovered a Lake City fumble on Lake City’s 28-yard line. Marion’s offense was unable to move the football and turned possession over to Lake City on downs. Lake City had the pigskin on their own 31-yard line. With about 4 minutes to go in the first quarter, Lake City’s #10 Cool Cool fired a pass to Blayne Edwards for a 67-yard touchdown to go up 6-0. The 2-point conversion failed.
The Panthers kicked off to the Swamp Foxes who had the football on Lake City’s 48-yard line. With less than a minute left in the first quarter, #10 Cool Cool rushed 6 yards for the score. A completed pass from 10 Cool Cool to Treshon Burgess was good for the 2-point conversion that gave Lake City a 14-0 lead.
Lake City recovered a fumble by Marion on Marion’s 35-yard line.
With about 11 minutes left in the first half, Lake City’s Treshon Burgess rushed for an 11-yard touchdown. The 2-point conversion attempt failed. Lake City was up 20-0.
The Panthers kicked off to the Swamp Foxes who began on offense on their own 37-yard line. Marion turned the football over on downs.
Lake City’s #10 Cool Cool completed a 26-yard pass to Anthony White for the touchdown. Lake City’s #41’s PAT was good. Lake City was up 27-0.
After the Lake City kickoff, Marion had the football on their own 47-yard line. With about 5 minutes remaining in the second quarter, Marion punted to Lake City who had the football on their own 45-yard line. With about 3 minutes left in the first half, Treshon Burgess rushed for a 26-yard touchdown. Lake City’s #41’s PAT was good. Lake City led 34-0.
After the Lake City kickoff to Marion, Marion started on their own 35-yard line. Lake City recovered as fumble.
The half ended with Lake City on top 34-0 over Marion.
The Marion Swamp Foxes kicked off to the Lake City Panthers to begin the second half of play. Reshon Burgess returned the kickoff 92 yards for the touchdown. The Panters’ #41’s PAT was good. Lake City led 41-0.
Marion will host the Manning Monarchs on Friday, October 25, at 7:30 p.m.
