McLeod Health Group, Local Elected Officials Discuss Issues Facing The Community

McLeod Health Dillon leadership met with local elected officials and the McLeod Health Government Affairs team on October 16. Senator Kent Williams and Representative Jackie Hayes joined the group to discuss issues facing the community and McLeod Dillon, including behavioral health. Behavioral health is an ongoing issue in the Dillon area. Each month the hospital sees dozens of behavior health patients, many of which need to be transported to other treatment facilities. South Carolina legislature funded a statewide pilot program by the Department of Health, allowing them to partner with a private company to transport these patients, preserving hospital resources, as well as the resources of local law enforcement agencies.
