The Carvers Bay Lady Bears handed the visiting Latta Lady Vikings a 3-2 loss at Carvers Bay in the Region 6A Championship on Tuesday, October 15.
The games were tense and the scoring was close. Carvers Bay won the first set 25-23. The Lady Bears lost the second and third sets 25-22 but rebounded to take the fourth set 26-24 and the fifth set 15-13.
Latta’s Chayse Walters had 5 aces and Madison Stevens had 5 aces, 14 kills, and 22 digs. Aubrey Allen had 14 kills and a block. Madison Berry had 6 kills and 2 blocks. Samantha Townsend had 52 digs, and Madison Berry had 18 digs. Hendley Ann McIntyre had 33 assists.
The Latta Lady Vikings finished in second place with a 10-2 record in Region 6A play.
The Latta Lady Vikings will travel to Dillon High School on Tuesday, October 22, at 6:15 as the varsity teams play one another.
