Lake View Defeats Hannah Pamplico In Varsity Football On Senior Night

Lake View defeated Hannah Pamplico 30-6 in varsity football played in Lake View on Friday, October 4, during Senior Night.
Neither team could muster a score in the first quarter.
Hannah Pamplico began to move the football on offense early in the second quarter to have the drive stalled on Lake View’s 21-yard line with an interception by Landon King who returned it 79 yards for the first touchdown of the game with 8:39 remaining in the second quarter. The PAT was good by Lucas Schamp to give Lake View a 7-0 lead.
The Hannah Pamplico Raiders wasted little time as #20, Jamarcus Willliams, for the Raiders picked up some hefty yards on 2 carries to set the stage for a touchdown pass in the end zone to #1, Tylin Jenkins, with 4:19 remaining in the second quarter. The PAT was good by #22, Lazaro Santiago, to knot the score at 7.
At halftime, the score was knotted at 7.
Lake View High School honored the senior cheerleaders and football players at halftime.
Lake View took the opening kickoff of the second half and returned it to Lake View’s own 37-yard line. Tyrell Foxworth picked up 9 yards, then a first down, and capped that with a 46-yard touchdown with 10:42 remaining in the third quarter. Lucas Schamp’s PAT was good. The Wild Gators were up 14-7.
The Hannah Pamplico Raiders were forced to punt on fourth down.
Lake View took over on their own 42-yard line. Kason Herlong and Tyrell Foxworth went to work on offense, each gaining yardage in the drive that was capped by Tyrell Foxworth who scored from the 21-yard line with 3:55 remaining in the third quarter. The PAT was good by Lucas Schamp to give the Wild Gators a 21-7 lead.
Lake View’s kickoff to Hannah Pamplico went out of bounds to place the football on the Raiders’ 35-yard line. Hannah Pamplico’s #20, Jamarcus Williams, picked up 4 yards. The Raiders’ quarterback fired a pass behind the line of scrimmage that was recovered by Lake View’s Dawson Hunt on the Raiders’ 35-yard line.
Lake View faced a fourth down and 12 yards to go. Chase Price’s punt placed Hannah Pamplico on their own 4-yard line.
After 3 quarters of play, Lake View was up 21-7.
Lake View’s defense managed to get a safety on Hannah Pamplico to give Lake View a 23-7 lead.
Hannah Pamplico kicked off to the Wild Gators who had good field position. Tyrell Foxworth picked up a first down followed by a 44-yard keeper by Kason Herlong. Tyrell Foxworth carried the pigskin to the 1-yard line. Kason Herlong kept for the TD with 9:14 remaining in the game. However, a flag on the play nullified the score. The Hannah Pamplico defense held and stopped the Lake View offense on the 1/2-yard line.
Hannah Pamplico had to punt, and Lake View’s Jalen Clarke returned it for a touchdown with 5:26 remaining in the game. Lucas Shamp’s PAT was good. Lake View led 30-7.
The Raiders took the kickoff and began to work. Lake View was charged with two 15-yard penalties that gave the Raiders a first down.
The two teams continued to battle but no one scored in the waning moments of the game.
Lake View will travel to Carvers Bay on Friday, October 11, for a 7:30 p.m. game.
Hannah Pamplico will travel to Green Sea Floyds on Friday, October 11, for a 7:30 p.m. game.
