Town of Latta Administrator Daniel Mack Rogers has confirmed to The Dillon County News, LLC, that he has turned in a letter of resignation as town administrator effective on Thursday, October 10th.
Rogers states that he will stay on council for the remainder of his term. Rogers provided a copy of the letter to The Dillon County News, LLC, which states that it is for health reasons.
The letter states October 4th because Rogers had planned to resign effective today, October 4, but later delayed his resignation to October 10th, which is the date of the next wouncil meeting. The letter reads:
“To The Latta Town Council: Kindly accept this letter as my formal resignation as Administrator of the Town of Latta. My last day will be October 4, 2024.
I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities that I have been given in this position. Due to health issues, I am not able to fulfill my duties as administator at this time. I value the insights that I have learned, and I expect them to help me in my future endeavors. I will continue to serve as councilman for my term.
I am here to help the town move forward. If anyone needs me, I am always here. Please feel free to call me anytime.
Sincerely,
Daniel Rogers

As stated earlier, the Latta Town Council does have a meeting on Thursday night, where it is likely that this matter will be discussed. Councilman Marcus McGirt is currently the assistant town administrator.
