Marlboro County Defeats Boom Squad 28-0

Marlboro County defeated the Boom Squad 28-0 in 11- and 12-year old tackle football played in Dillon on Monday, September 9, at the City of Dillon Recreational Football Field.
Marlboro County kicked off to the Boom Squad to start the game. The Boom Squad fumbled but recovered the fumble.
The Boom Squad’s #17 carried followed by #2 who picked up 7 yards. The Boom Squad’s #17 lost a yard on the next play. #1 for the Boom Squad carried on the next play but the gain was nullified due to a flag on the play.
Marlboro County took over on the 50-yard line. Marlboro County’s #21 carried for no gain. Marlboro County’s #20 carried for a 50-yard touchdown with 4 seconds remaining in the first quarter. Marlboro County’s #24 was stopped on the 2-point conversion attempt. Marlboro County lead 6-0 after the first quarter.
After the kickoff, the Boom Squad started on their own 49-yard line. Marlboro County recovered a bad snap on the Boom Squad’s 40-yard line.
The Boom Squad’s #2 intercepted a pass on their own 20-yard line. Faced with a fourth down and long, the Boom Squad’s #17 punted.
Marlboro County took over 40-yard line of Boom Squad. Marlboro County’s #20 carried to the 15-yard line. Marlboro County’s #24 carried the pigskin into the end zone for a 15-yard touchdown with 31 seconds remaining in the first half. Marlboro County’s #30 scored the 2-point conversion to give Marlboro County a 14-0 lead.
The Boom Squad returned the kickoff to Marlboro County’s 29-yard line as time expired in the first half.
The Boom Squad took the opening kickoff of the third quarter and returned it to their own 28-yard line. The Boom Squad turned the football over on downs on their own 38-yard line.
Marlboro County’s #21 picked up 7 yards. Marlboro County’s #20 scored from 38 yards with 2:43 remaining in the third quarter. Marlboro scored the 2 points on the conversion to go up 22-0.
Marlboro County added another touchdown and a 2-point conversion n the final quarter.
