The Lake View Lady Wild Gators defeated the Latta Lady Vikings 2-0 in junior varsity volleyball played in Lake View on Wednesday, September 11, at 5:00 p.m.
In the first game, Lake View took an early 6-0 lead before Latta battled back to tie the game at 7. Lake View took another lead 14-9 before taking a 20-12 lead. Latta once again to whittle away at the score cutting the lead to 5 points, 23-19, before losing the battle 25-19.
In the second game, the score was knotted at 4, before Lake View managed to get ahead 8-6. Latta fought and took the lead 9-8. The game was tied at 16, then 17, then 19, before Lake View edged ahead 21-19. The end result was Lake View 25 and Latta 20.
Lake View’s Riley Barfield had 10 aces, 2 kills, and 2 assists. Lauren King had 2 digs.
Lake View’s head coach is Brittani Alford.
Lake View will travel to South Columbus on Monday, September 16 for a 4:30 matchup.
