The McBee Panthers handed the Latta Vikings a 28-7 loss in Latta on Friday, September 6.
The Panthers rushed for a 47-yard touchdown in the first quarter. The PAT was good to give McBee a 7-0 lead. The Panthers dwere not through in the first quarter as they added a 36-yard touchdown pass and a PAT afterwards to go ujp 14-0.
Faced with a third down and 8 yards to go in the second quarter, McBee used a 57-yard pass to set up a 31-yard TD pass on second down and 15 yards to go. The PAT was good. McBee led 21-0.
On second down and 7 yards to go, the Latta Vikings fumbled the football and McBee recovered. On first and 15, the Panthers rushed for 23 yards. On second and 10, the Panthers rushed for 25 yards to set up a 3-yard touchdown. The PAT was good. McBee led 28-0 at halftime.
Latta’s lone touchdown and PAT came in the second half.
McBee’s DJ Harper, Jason Brockington, and Devarius Ponds each scored touchdowns.
McBee had 242 total yards with 122 yards passing and 120 rushing yards while Latta had a total of 152 yards with 29 yards passing and 123 rushing yards.
The McBee Panthers converted 1 of 4 third down conversions while Latta converted 3 of 12 third down conversions. Latta had 2 turnovers, 1 fumble, and 1 interception in the game.
The Mullins Auctioneers will be in Latta on Friday, September 13, for a 7:30 showdown with Latta. Mullins is presently 3-0 this season and looking for win number 4. Latta is 1-2 for the season.
