Local Assistant Solicitor Officially Files to Run for Solicitor on Republican Ticket

COLUMBIA, SC – Lifelong South Carolinian, Dillon native and Republican Shipp Daniel filed paperwork with the South Carolina Election Commission for his run for the office of Solicitor of the Fourth Judicial Circuit where has served as Assistant Solicitor for 16 years. Daniel’s record includes over 1,000 convictions, and he has secured multiple life sentences for the most violent criminals of the circuit.

Daniel attended Dillon’s public schools, graduating from Dillon High School in 2000, and is a member of First Presbyterian Church in Dillon. Daniel went on to graduate from Clemson University in 2004 and the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2007. Upon graduating from law school, he served as law clerk to the Honorable James E. Lockemy and then accepted a position as Assistant Solicitor in the Fourth Circuit Solicitor’s Office where he has worked for 16 years prosecuting cases in Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon and Marlboro Counties.

In serving our community, Daniel has received the Judge Bill Byars Community Partner Award and the John  R. Justice Scholarship. He is a past president of the Dillon County Bar Association and past vice president of the Dillon Kiwanis Club.
